Kobukan Kobudo – Coconut Creek, FL

Kobukan Kobudo Renmei (KKR) dojo and training groups are authorized to teach the official KKR martial arts curriculum to the members of their school, under the direction of the Kobukan Honbu (headquarters), led by Kancho James Wright.

Kobudo is the study of traditional Japanese martial arts and combative systems that developed over the course of hundreds of years, having a wide range of use, from the battlefield, to policing and personal self-defense. The kobudo training offered through the Kobukan Kobudo Renmei focuses heavily on Japanese Ju-jutsu and Ninpo martial arts, including armed and unarmed defense.

While affiliated dojo and training groups are independently operated, instructors undergo their own continuous training within the Kobukan organization. Individuals can apply directly through an affiliated instructor or online, and upon being accepted, will receive a KKR patch along with an official welcome, and may immediately begin learning our martial arts systems through their selected instructor. Members also receive official recognition and ranking, through Kobukan Honbu, for all tests, as well as become elligible to attend official member-only events and training.

To join the Kobukan Kobudo Renmei family as a student, reach out to a school in your area. If you are located in the US and there is no affiliated group realistic for you to travel to, or does not align with your availability, we encourage you to email us directly to discuss options.

If you already have a martial arts background and wish to join the Kobukan family as an instructor in your area, please email us for further information.
