The term 支部長 literally means “branch leader” and denotes an individual appointed to represent the organization within a specific geographic area. In traditional organizations, a Shibu-cho is responsible for maintaining instructional standards, supporting instructors and students, and ensuring accurate transmission of teachings in alignment with the Honbu (headquarters).
