About the Instructor
Erik Desmond is the head instructor of Island Self-Defense in Holbrook, New York, where he teaches authentic Ninpo and Jujutsu to students from Holbrook and the greater Long Island area.
As a certified instructor within the Kobukan Kobudo Renmei, Erik upholds the organization’s high standards of traditional Japanese martial arts. He works closely with students to support their technical development and training journey.
With decades of martial arts experience, Erik has trained students of all backgrounds — from complete beginners to advanced practitioners — as well as professionals seeking practical self-defense skills.

Our Martial Arts Training
